Well, that does it. Once Pinkberry introduces its special summer flavor (last year it was Watermelon), summer can officially begin. This year, VP of The Saxton Group Adam Saxton invited me over to chat and photograph the goods while he treated me to a big spoonful of summer at the Uptown location.
Pinkberry doesn’t just introduce a new flavor, leaving us to flander about wildly trying to figure out what to top it with. Oh no. They come forth with a few suggestions.
The subject of my photoshoot here is the Strawberry Classic combination, with strawberries and a balsamic glaze.
Pinkberry doesn’t mess around. They elevate. This fro-yo is near cuisine.
Which brings me to the other bit of news. High quality has, according to Mr. Saxton, always been a priority for the Pinkberry brand, but they’ve recently made some upgrades to their toppings to meet even higher standards.
Along with new toppings like the Lemon Cookie Crunch pictured above (which is OUTSTANDING and should be tried immediately), all of the toppings available are 100 percent free of trans fats, hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup. Quality, y’all.
This means the Fruity Pebbles (enjoyed by adults and toddlers alike) had to go. But don’t fret, they were replaced with fruit-flavored Cheerios that satisfy the high-quality requirements.
Go try the new Pinkberry Strawberry with strawberries and balsamic glaze. Or better yet, try out the “foodbitch Summertime Strawberry Lemonade:” Strawberry with Lemon Cookie Crunch topping. Don’t ask for it by name though; they won’t know what the heck you’re talking about. ;)
Disclaimer: I was provided FREE Pinkberry, including the berry-packed smoothie pictured above, plus some waffle sandwiches to bring back to the folks at her office for them to fight over. And fight they did. One of them was even stolen from the freezer at work. For SHAME, coworkers!
