Check out Stampede 66's Menu Before it Opens Tonight
Finally, with the openings of both Spoon and Stampede 66 today, we conclude the intense, major chef-driven restaurant pile-on of the past month. Finally, a little relief. Yeah right. #foodwriterproblems
Chef Stephan Pyles posted Stampede 66’s menu to his blog today, along with a few words to mark the occasion.
So what are the menu standouts? In my opinion: pickled and deviled eggs ($8), Chicken & Dumplings ($12), ALL of the bread selections, the duck breast and confit with sopapillas and apricot atole ($18), venison meatloaf with mac n’ cheese ($18), lamb Texas 2-step with potato-goat cheese pie, and whatever “sonofabitch 2012” is.
And all of that is before we even get to the dessert menu, in which absolutely everything sounds incredible. Oh that Pyles, I do like that guy.
Anyway, if you can’t make it out to Stampede 66 tonight because YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE MAKING YOU GO TO CHILI’S FOR THEIR BIRTHDAYS, BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON IT ENTERTAINS THEM IMMENSELY TO TORTURE YOU WITH MEDIOCRE FOOD AND DRINKS (AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), here’s the opposite menu from what you’ll be enjoying this evening.
Read it and weep. Oh wait, that’ll just be me…Sniff.
