@CityofAte #CROSSPOST: My First Look at THE GREEK in One Arts Plaza
I’m a fan of Greek food. Good Mediterranean food is always full of flavor, fresh vegetables, delicious cheeses and meat — these folks really know what to do with a piece of meat! That’s why when I caught word of the Ziziki’s owners opening in the old Commissary spot in One Arts Plaza, I was excited to have another Med spot in the mix.
So the story of my stalking THE GREEK goes like this: On Sunday, I popped over to One Arts for their block party, sneaking a peek inside the restaurant to snap a few pics while sampling their artichoke dip (pretty killer actually) and sipping on their white sangria (part of the block party’s cocktail competition).
On Monday, despite the news of them doing the Chef Shuffle (which is like the Cupid Shuffle but somehow even MORE awkward), I headed back to One Arts and found it was a no-go on soft open. Assured there would be food on Tuesday, I planned to go back a third day in a row. Stalker much?
Tuesday was the day! I brought a friend and we ate the Greek goodness and it was good. Their kitchen had a few issues with backed up orders, so it was a long lunch, but when I’m with good company I don’t mind. In the end, we tried the lamb gyro, the artichoke dip, the “Real Greek Salad,” and the Steak & Shrooms pita. The only thing I didn’t care for was my iced tea. I prefer unflavored.
THE GREEK opens on Friday for realz — full-menu-style. Go eat there! And check out my First Look at THE GREEK in City of Ate for mouthwatering photos, too.
