Does Texas need more brisket? Probably not, but I’m not complaining. My only complaint is that this new purveyor of smoked meats by Kenny Bowers is all the way up north in Plano, where the cougars roam.

Word is, Bowers has spent YEARS working on his brisket technique, and I like the sound of that. In fact, this news might make me spray on cougar repellant (Eau De Poor) and venture out north to give the place a try. According to the press release, the menu will include pulled pork, brisket, beef and pork ribs and smoked sausage from Southside Market in Elgin. And Bowers will be using hickory to smoke his meats and seafood. So there’s seafood also.

Kenny’s Smoke House, all 2,700 square feet of it, will be opening at the Shops at Legacy in December.
