Gah. I feel like I’m always talking about brunch lately. Maybe because I’m always hungry (feeding twins will do that to you) or maybe it’s just because brunch is effing awesome. Probably both. Anyway, the folks at The Observer asked me to come up with some best brunches so I jotted down my favorites in categories like best boozy brunch, best beefy brunch and best brunch to take your parents. Hence, The First Annual Brunchies: Dallas’ Best Brunch Awards was born.

These aren’t like the definitive, official best brunches in town, just some the best, according to Yours Truly. Organized into categories. Like when you want brunch but you also have children. Or when you want brunch but want a little something different. Think of it like a handy-brunchy reference guide that you can flip to when you have specifications.

And if you have a favorite of your own, weigh in on the discussion already happening in the comments section here or on City of Ate. Apparently there’s some love for Cafe Brazil (which I think is mediocre at best) and Breadwinners. To each their own, I just happen to have a tasty soapbox to stand on. OH, and I know the breakfast tacos aren’t like the best thing to get at La Duni, but that’s what I happened to find a photo of. Jeez.

Anyway, I hope this post makes you hungry and gives you some inspiration for where to hit this weekend when the little devil on your shoulder whispers “brunch.” That little guy. Heh.
