Not that there’s anything particularly wrong with Garden Cafe, it’s just that I was hoping for something like my beloved East Side Cafe in Austin. And what I got was the realization that I’d been there before, eating the same good, but not great food. Eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium, hashbrowns were crispy, but just the very top layer. Surfaces were a little greasy/sticky for my liking. It’s a cute neighborhood place, but there’s nothing spectacular happening there, besides the whole “we grow a lot of our own food and shit” thing, of course. If you’re into that, hippy.
