Title
Lick a Football Player: Taste of the NFL is on Sunday
Okay, so I’m not totally sure that you can lick a football player at Taste of the NFL (or TOTNFL for short), but if the opportunity arises, look out.
I’ll be there, capturing photos and tasting things (most likely food and not football players), but if you want to go too, here’s how:
What: Taste of the NFL: The Ultimate Cowboys Tailgate Party
When: Sunday, May 20 from 6:30 to 9:30
Where: The Omni Dallas Hotel
Why: Raffles! Chefs! Current and Ex-Cowboys! Cheerleaders! And it benefits the NTFB!
How Much: $125 per person/$225 per couple until 5pm May 16, or $150 per person at the door.
And the chef count is looking real good. Here’s a partial list of people you could rub elbows with:
Kent Rathbun (Blue Plate, etc.)
Sean Merchant (from Bob’s Steak & Chop House)
Graham Dodds (from Central 214)
David Holben (from Del Frisco’s)
Bronwen Weber (of Frosted Art and Food Network fame)
Matt McCallister (from FT 33)
Orazio LaManna (from Cowboys Stadium)
Anthony Bombaci (from the Anatole)
Rodman Shields (from Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse)
Leslie Beach (from The Owner’s Box at the Omni)
James Johnson (from Pappas Bros. Steakhouse)
The Saxton Group (AKA the folks who brought you Pinkberry)
Jaime Corona (from The Place at Perry’s)
Tiffany Derry (from Private Social)
Shuji Sugawara (from Shinsei)
TJ Lengnick (from Whiskey Cake)
James Mockerman (from Sullivan’s)
Gilbert Garza (from Suze Restaurant)
Daniel Nemec (from Woodfire Kirby’s)
Not too shabby of a group. I suppose there will be football players and cheerleaders to chat up as well — but you know me — I’m all about the food.
Hope to see you there, if not, look for my writeup here and on City of Ate.
NOTE: I’ll be attending this event for free as media. Just in case you were wondering how I can afford to attend all the swankiest events in town, I can’t. They just let bitches like me in.
