Minibar, LASH and Drizly walk into a bar…
Just kidding! They’re all sitting on their couches, ordering beer, wine and liquor on their asses. Just like all of us, now that we can all order our favorite dranks from the palm of our hands.
You’ve read all about Drizly and LASH on my blog. Well, now the folks at Minibar want to weigh in and tell you about their service and what makes them different from the rest. I’m here to help, folks. Because drinky drinky, clinky clinky!
Anyway, here’s how our little email Q&A went down:

FB: How does Minibar work?
MB: Minibar is a platform providing consumers with on-demand access to wine, liquor, beer, mixers and more from their local liquor store. Launched in February 2014, Minibar gives users an easy and hassle-free way to stock their spirits. Available in New York, LA, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston and more; 30-60 minute delivery.
FB: What’s the backstory on Minibar and its ownership?
MB: Co-founders Lindsey Andrews and Lara Crystal originally met at Wharton Business School. After graduating, they would meet every Tuesday night (aka: Takeout Tuesday) to discuss a variety of business ideas. When another friend from business school suggested alcohol delivery, they realized that would improve takeout Tuesday, and their lives, generally. When they looked at the space, they realized how much opportunity there was to bring this industry online – all of this eventually evolved into Minibar — on-demand alcohol delivery.
FB: How does the inventory work?
MB: Minibar partners with great stores in your local area to bring you the best selection. Product availability will change based on your delivery address; if the partner in your area does not carry a specific product you’d like please let us know so we can look into sourcing it.
FB: How cold is your beer when it’s delivered? (just saying)
MB: At checkout, Include this request in the order notes section and we’ll make it happen!
FB: How fast can you get a cocktail into my hand?
MB: We deliver in 30 – 60 minutes.
FB: For those who don’t know, what else do you deliver besides beer, wine and liquor?
MB: We also offer mixers for sale through Minibar; soda, water, juice, ice, and fruit garnishes. Every now and then we like to offer seasonal or holiday specific items available for sale. On Cinco de Mayo we delivered donkey-shaped piñatas filled with nips!
FB: Anything else that might surprise folks to know about Minibar?
MB: We were the first liquor delivery app to market in Dallas, launching in November 2014.
Now that you know everything there is to know about the three alcohol delivery apps in town, let me know which one’s got your business. Tell me in the comments, on social (Twitter, Instagram or Facebook) because I’m dying to know what you guys think and what your experience has been. Let’s all get drunk in the safety of our own homes! Cheers!
BONUS! Use promo code FOODBITCH for $10 off your first minibar order with the purchase of mixers. Sounds like a party to me.
