Food Trucks & More Trucks & CHOCOLATE!

If you’ve been sleeping underneath a heavy rock of some sort, or are less obsessed with food-related tweets and blogs than I am, you might not be aware of the two big food-related events going on tomorrow, Saturday, August 27. It would be a shame for your stomach to miss out on either one of these babies, so I wanted to go ahead and bring them to your attention just in case.

1) 10:00 – 5:00p.m. THE DALLAS CHOCOLATE CONFERENCE

Yep. You read that right. There’s a conference happening tomorrow that’s all about chocolate. Chocolate lectures, chocolate tastings and I’m hoping some sort of chocolate chiseling/carving demonstration. Only time will tell. Look for a blog post and complementary slideshow from me come Monday. Beware their shitty web site. 

2) 6:00 – ? THE DFW GOURMET FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

This one’s a doozy. Proof that food trucks have really arrived in DFW, this festival will be held in a lot near Sigel’s on lowest Greenville Avenue. It will be hot, but we will have Enticed to cool us down. There will also be: 3 Men & a Taco, Crazysisters, Gandolfo’s NY Deli, Jack’s Chowhound, Mr. Cool Ice Cream, Nammi, The Bomb Fried Pies, Trailercakes and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe. 

It’s going to be quite a day. Followed by the first annual Fasting, Food-free Sunday perhaps. Oy.
