Title
Quick Bites: Meso Maya & La Ventana
Well that didn’t take long. I did the First Look on City of Ate and knew I’d be back for that patio. So a friend and I made our way to La Ventana for a taco (just one each) and then ’round the corner to Meso Maya for some patio. And guac. And a beet salad. And a tamale.
The taco de pollo was perfect. It was just the right size, slightly spicy and after a huge squeeze of lime it was like summer in my mouth.
I’m a big fan of both of these places, so I’ll excuse the lack-luster beet salad. The beets were good, and the chicken was cooked well, but overall the salad was a bit bland, without any punch to the dressing at all. The guac and the bite of tamale I tried were both excellent. Honestly, I can’t wait to go back and try the much lauded margaritas, and much much more of Meso Maya’s menu. And La Ventana makes for a perfect lunch any day.
