…to be honest. Because y’all know I’m going to be.
Did I want to order everything on the menu at Kent Rathbun’s Blue Plate Kitchen? Yes.
Did I love paying $18 for a BBQ chicken dish? No.
Simple as that.
But I would recommend KRBPK for a casual night out, perhaps if you desire your dinner elevated to the level of nearby Hillstone and R+D Kitchen. Inventive ingredients and sides made it a nice combo of sophisitcated and comfort food. I’ll be back for more, when someone else is buying.
starter pizza, I mean Wood Roasted Cheesy Bread
Windy Bar Ranch Texas Chicken Fried Steak with veggie of the day (Kale, unfortunately — too healthy) and a substitute starch (basically a cheesy latke with cheese)
Dr. Pepper Barbecue Rotisserie Chicken atop same cheesy latke.
Seasonal Fruit Crisp with a mildly vanilla ice cream. It is the season of apples and brandy, apparently.
All in all, when you visit KRBPK, you’re paying a little bit extra for the KR part. I think the fact that your food is designed by the Abacus chef adds a few bucks to every entree price.
