@CityofAte #CROSSPOST: Sushi on McKinney: A Love Story
For those of you who didn’t know, I was in a relationship… with Sushi on McKinney. It was “my place.” Everyone has a sushi place, right? The one they feel at home inside. The place with decent prices and great quality and perfect rice. When you eat sushi at other spots, you wish you were back home at “your place” eating your favorite roll instead. That place, for me, was Sushi on McKinney. Sure, there are better sushi places in town; I never said it was the best. There’s cheaper sushi, and goodness knows there’s more expensive, too. I enjoy Mr. Sushi, perhaps even more, but it’s farther. I love Teppo and Yutaka, but they have much more pretense. Tei An is a total pleasure, but it’s for special occasions. Sushi on McKinney was my once-a-week, neighborhood spot where everybody knew my name. And my order. I was a card-carrying “royal customer.” The Robb Roll (hold the cream cheese) is #16 on the #FOODBITCH100. It closed like 7 years ago, supposedly for good. It reopened! And now it’s gone again. Not dead, just relocated. To Plano. Sushi on McKinney Plano. It’s a thing now.
SIGH.

Please be gentle to me. My emotions are raw right now. Raw …as sushi.
